Raku

Burned by an ancient Japanese method.

 

The ceramics are burned in the absence of oxygen. This reduces the ceramic and clay turns black and the glaze gets its special glow.

The ceramics subjected during the burning process to rapid temperature changes and achieve its decorative crackles.

 

You can not be sure that raku fired ceramics is waterproof. It is therefore not recommended for food.
